BIOGRAPHY

Drew Foster is a scenic and costume designer for theatre, spectacle, and immersive entertainment. He is a practicing figurative painter. Trained as a designer, an actor, and a dancer at Willamette University, Drew diversified his education with studies in studio art and art history, as well as reading avant-garde theatre and modern art history, at Roehampton University, London. Now based in Los Angeles, Drew started his career in the Pacific Northwest as an illustrator for Michael Curry Design as well as numerous collaborations with companies such as Artists Repertory Theatre, Teatro Milagro, Hand2Mouth Theatre, and Portland Actors Conservatory. Drew’s theatre design has been showcased at CalArts, REDCAT, and the Prague Quadrennial of Design. An alumnus of CalArts specializing in scenography – Drew holds an MFA in scenic design (under the mentorship of Chris Barreca) and in costume design (under the mentorship of Ellen McCartney). Drew is the recipient of the 2012 Beutner Family Award for Excellence in the Arts.  Currently, Drew Foster is on staff as a Associate Art Director at ThinkWell Group, Burbank, CA.
